About Mark

Mark is a Larrakia man and also of Torres Strait Islander descent. Mark was born and raised in Darwin. He started his schooling at Nightcliff Primary School and completed his schooling at Nightcliff High School and Darwin High School. Mark joined the Northern Territory Government in 1976.

Mark is married with a family of four children. He also has five grandchildren.

Mark comes to us with a wealth of experience and knowledge of government, private sector, Aboriginal engagement, and support services, including health and juvenile justice. Mark also worked as a senior Indigenous business development officer working with the support programs still delivered by the department.

Having owned and operated a business himself, Mark is acutely aware of the needs of a Territory business, and has a breadth of experience working with Aboriginal people.


  • Diploma in Frontline Management
  • Currently enrolled in Batchelor of Commerce, Charles Darwin University
  • Enrolled in Australian Institute of Company Directors Course - December 2021.

Industry experience

Previously a small business owner in sports retail - footwear and apparel.
