Territory space strategy

Northern Territory space strategy 2022 to 2026

The global space industry is entering new territory, fuelled by private investment and renewed public interest.

Our economy and society are increasingly reliant on space technology, from our mobile phones to bushfire management and for the operation of key traditional industries such as mining and agriculture.

The Northern Territory space strategy 2022 to 2026 incorporates the Territory Economic Reconstruction Commission reports recommendations to:

  • develop the space industry
  • maximise foreign and domestic space investment
  • contribute to job creation, economic growth and diversification.

The strategy provides the framework to grow the size, scope, capability and commercial sustainability of the Territory’s space sector, and to support Australia to develop as a significant player in the global space industry.
