Tourism Resilience Intensive Business Support Program launched
Tourism Fast Track is a new intensive business support program addressing business survival, business revival and business growth.
The program is a partnership with Tourism NT and the Business Enterprise Centre (BEC NT). It has been established under the Territory Government’s $2 million Immediate Tourism Resilience Plan to minimise the impact to our tourism industry from the Australian bushfires and the coronavirus outbreak and to maintain momentum in attracting more visitors to the Northern Territory (NT).
This specifically tailored support program will be intensive in nature, focusing on increasing revenue; increasing the number of visitors (customers); increasing the average visitor spend; reviewing prices; or lowering business expenditure.
It will involve a minimum of five one-on-one meetings with an experienced tourism sector business consultant and delivered within a three month time period, noting the immediacy of the current challenges.
All meetings will focus on the individual business situation, their options, business research and analysis, strategic development, implementation options and modelling the financial effects on their business prior to any expenditure.
The BEC NT offers a range of services and can assist businesses through business education, best practice strategic direction and strategy implementation. Tourism businesses looking to apply for the program, can do so via BEC NT or Tourism NT.
The Department of Trade, Business and Innovation is also offering specific support to businesses facing significant adverse conditions due to the impacts of the Australian bushfires and the coronavirus outbreak. To access this initiative, businesses should speak with a Tourism NT business enterprise consultant for an initial assessment.
The Tourism Fast Track program opens 1 March 2020, to find out more or to apply go to the BEC NT website.
