Employer assistance available to hire new apprentices and trainees

Territory Businesses are being encouraged to capitalise on financial assistance to employ apprentices and trainees available now through the latest release of the Northern Territory Government’s employer incentives.

Two-hundred grants totalling $680,000 are available to encourage businesses in the private sector to employ additional apprentices and trainees through the NT Occupational Shortage Employer Incentive Scheme and the NT Disadvantaged Groups Employer Incentive Scheme.

The Minister for Employment and Training said the Northern Territory Government is committed to growing a skilled local workforce that will take advantage of opportunities as Northern Australia continues to develop.
