Air Combat Facilities RAAF Base Tindal

Air Traffic Control Towers - RAAF Base Darwin and Tindal

New Air Traffic control towers at RAAF Bases Darwin and Tindal.

This project includes construction of two new air traffic control towers, accommodating a control cabin, external observation deck and a crew rest area, toilet, kitchenette and mechanical plant room.

RAAF Base Darwin

Works include a new sensor equipment building, construction of a new air traffic control tower and refurbishment and modifications to the airfield systems complex facilities. The new tower is a 50m high multi-level facility accommodating a control cabin, external observation deck and a crew rest area, toilet, kitchenette and plant room.

RAAF Base Tindal

Works include a new sensor equipment building on the northern side of the base and the construction of a new air traffic control tower and airfield systems complex to accommodate the phase 3 equipment.

The new tower is a 25m high multi-level facility accommodating a control cabin, external observation deck and a crew rest area, toilet, kitchenette and mechanical plant room.

Arafura Resources - Nolan's Rare Earths Project

The Central Arnhem Road Upgrade will involve sealing, reconstructing, widening, and flood immunity improvements to priority sections of the route to a fit-for-purpose standard.

The town is a natural transport crossway connecting the Ord River and the Kimberley to the west, Alice Springs to the south and Queensland to the east.

Improved freight capacity, through sealing of existing pavements, improved flood immunity, through provision of new bridges over the Keep River and Sandy Creek and increased regional productivity and economic development, through provision of year-round road access.

Jervois Base Metal Mine

KGL’s Jervois Base Metal Project is located on the Jervois Pastoral Lease, approximately 270km east-northeast of Alice Springs along the Plenty Highway.

The project involves both open cut and underground mining of a number of orebodies with onsite processing of ore via a flotation plant to produce metal concentrates.

The project plans to produce a copper / gold / silver concentrate and a lead / zinc concentrate estimated at 150,000 tonnes of total concentrate per annum over an estimated 12 to 15 year production life.

Litchfield National Park Upgrades

Developing new visitor sites at three locations in Litchfield National Park, including roadworks will create jobs and support tourism.

Stage 1 upgrades include the construction of approximately 18km of unsealed road and tracks suitable for 4WD vehicles from Litchfield Park Road to the new swimming holes.

These upgrades will lead the way for stage 2 - construction of infrastructure at the site of the new swimming holes including campgrounds, walking and mountain bike trails, viewing platforms, picnic areas and car parking.

Litchfield Park Road Upgrade - Stage 2

Sealing of the last 12kms of Litchfield Park Road to complete the loop around Litchfield National Park.

Mango Roads

Upgrading a 15km network of roads used by mango farmers to help protect fruit quality for consumers and improve profits for growers.

The project will seal four sections of road in the Litchfield municipality:

  2. Mocatto Road between Whitstone and Acacia Gap Road (3.2km)
  3. Horsnell Road between Elizabeth Valley Road and Alverly (3.4km), and
  4. Kentish Road between Hopewell Road and the end of the current sealed section (3.2km).

Manunda Place Office Tower

A new nine-story office tower which will house Department of Health staff.

Project Sea Dragon Prawn Farm

A world-class aquaculture business to produce more than 10,000 tonnes of prawns per year.

Project Sea Dragon is centred on a grow-out facility at Legune Station in the Victoria River District of the Territory.

Tanami Road Rolling Program

Tanami Road connects Alice Springs with Halls Creek in Western Australia.

Over two-thirds of Tanami Road is unsealed with substantial sections being unformed.

This surface has led to the development of significant ruts and corrugations from heavy vehicles.

These works will upgrade and improve flood immunity and resilience for the Tanami Road between the Stuart Highway north of Alice Springs, and the Great Northern Highway at Halls Creek.

Tellus Holding - Chandler Salt Mine

The Chandler Salt Mine project includes a salt mine and waste storage facility in Central Australia.

The Chandler project is located in regional central Australia approximately 120km south of Alice Springs in the Simpson Desert and in the Amadeus Basin.

Chandler is Australia’s first proposed underground salt mine and deep geological waste repository in a 500-million-year-old halite (salt) bed.
