Occupations included in the agreement

The table shows occupations that are eligible to for sponsorship under the Northern Territory Designated Area Migration Agreement (NT DAMA).

It also shows the concessions that may be applied.

NT employers can seek a Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) concession. However, there must be a strong business case provided to support a TSMIT concession.

The employer has to show that the salary offered to a prospective overseas worker is at least what an Australian citizen or permanent resident could expect doing the same job in the same location.

* an English language concession is not available as these occupations are classified as vulnerable.

** for the occupation of Cook - specialist ethnic cuisine:

  • an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall band score of 5.0 or the equivalent in another English testing system accepted by the Australian Government is required
  • no minimum individual IELTS test component score in reading, writing, speaking and listening applies.

^ applicants must meet specific licensing requirements.
