NT VET workforce development action plan 2015-17

In partnership with the VET sector, Employment and Skilling NT has developed the Northern Territory VET Workforce Development Action Plan.

The purpose of the action plan is to identify and address the Northern Territory VET sector workforce priorities, to ensure we can grow a skilled and flexible workforce.

The action plan will position the Northern Territory’s VET sector to produce high quality training delivery and assessment services and skilled graduates to help employers build their workforce capability.

How the strategy is being implemented

A steering committee will be established to provide ongoing guidance and oversee the implementation of the NT VET Workforce Development Action Plan.

The Services Industries Training Advisory Council (SITAC) will manage the implementation process on behalf of the Department of Trade, Business and Innovation.

Purpose and outcomes

The NT VET Workforce Development Action Plan identifies priorities and actions to build and strengthen the NT VET sector’s skill capabilities and capacity to attract, develop and retain a skilled and flexible workforce, including the regional and remote areas.

The Action Plan will position the Northern Territory’s VET sector to produce high-quality training delivery and assessment services and skilled graduates to help employers build their workforce capability.
