Follow these tips to get the most from your visit to the Skills, Employment and Careers Expo.
Preparing to visit
Contact YouthWorX NT to get your copy of the preparation handbook. Use it to help you research your occupations of interest and plan your expo experience, make sure you bring it with you to the expo.
Look at the exhibitor list and make a note of the exhibitors you are interested in speaking with.
Make sure you look out for the Skills, Employment and Careers Expo features in the NT News and your local papers throughout August.
At the expo
Collect information from the exhibitors that are of interest to you and ask them your questions.
Have a go at the various trade and skills activities that are on offer.
If you are a job hunter, make sure you spend time at the Jobs Board and look into the real jobs that are on offer.
Complete your careers and skills passport at the expo by talking to as many exhibitors you are interested in as you can.
Complete the survey at the exit to tell us about your experience at the expo.
After the expo
Read all the information you have collected.
Review the work you did in your preparation handbook.
Follow-up with the exhibitors and people you met to further demonstrate your interest in their organisation.
If you have further questions, contact the relevant institution or organisation to have your questions answered or contact us and we may be able to point you in the right direction.
