Aboriginal Broadcasting Australia
Aboriginal Broadcasting Australia is an Indigenous media organisation that is 100% Indigenous owned, controlled, staffed and located in Darwin CBD.
Our primary goal is to empower Indigenous people by creating opportunities such as full-time employment and training in all areas of the latest in digital technology for television, film and documentary productions and also digital radio, engineering and IT.
We are focussed on increasing the amount of Indigenous film, television and radio productions broadcast through our reach into local, remote and rural Aboriginal communities. However, we are also looking at other sources and alliances to achieve this goal.
We have a 'state of the art' digital broadcasting facility in Cavenagh Street in the Darwin CBD where we broadcast our four television channels and three radio on Larrakia Radio 94.5 FM and Darwin FM 91.5 across Darwin and the wider Northern Territory and also on our national Aboriginal radio service broadcasting from the Vast Satellite channel 913, across Australia.
Indigenous Community Television
Indigenous Community Television (ICTV) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation, based in Alice Springs. ICTV is registered with Supply Nation and a member of the NT Indigenous Business Network.
Our core purpose is to improve the lives of Indigenous Australians, especially those living in remote areas, by providing media distribution outlets (TV and online) that enable the active sharing of stories, culture and language on video. Over 50% of our content is in Indigenous Australian languages.
ICTV’s television service reaches across remote Australia on Channel 601 VAST, including most of NT, and in 2017 we began free to air broadcasts in Alice Springs on Channel 41. Our complementary video on demand service, ICTV Play, is available at ictv.com.au
